April brings ‘Young Calf‘, Easter bunnies, a time of rebirth, the sound chorus of new birds nesting in the trees, hatching and learning to fly. Daisies and dandelions, wildflowers abound, are masked by the strong smell of fertiliser that fills the air. Farming life continues, the main priority over Easter and through April will still be calving, which will continue until the middle of May. All calves have their ears tagged and each one will have its own passport. Lambing comes to an end, but the tiny lambs can be prey to foxes and crows. A time for long walks to observe the beautiful landscapes and livestock.
