September brings ‘Suffolk Sheep’ with their happy dark faces and velvety soft mouths that would never bite you as you feed them grass, grazing happily together. Their gentle nature and voices bleating in the early autumn sunshine. They graze alongside common sheep, united by their sociable natures, soft and sweet and are such friendly characters. They run over to my outstretched hand for a quick nibble on some juicy grass I have found, as I study them.
As the Autumn Equinox (a day and night in equal balance) and Harvest Festival beckons, the fruit filled trees are heavy laden ready for preserving fruit in large glass jars, they shed their burden of ripe fruit in a carpet of decay swarmed by wasps. Fields of straw-bales ready for the winter feed look huge, like monsters neatly laid out across golden fields.
