February brings ‘Love Sheep”, the month of love and flowers, blooms and Valentines. The cold settles in for weeks on end but there are glimpses of life emerging from the soil. Tiny shoots appear, trees show signs of tiny buds pushing through spindly limbs. There are always things that need to be done on a farm, but February can be less busy than the months to come. The maintenance and upkeep continue, and livestock will keep being fed instead of grazing. I stay at home in the warmth painting happily.
“Love Sheep” is a painting of mutual love and affection.
Sheep, like humans, visibly express their emotions.
Lambs are playful like puppies, sheep wag their tails when they are stroked, and nuzzle heads.
This painting is a symbol of love, painted thickly to replicate their wooly fleeces.
Painted on a deep edged canvas in soft grey tones in oils and is also available as prints. It is part of the Warm Grey series.
